Banded Lower Trapezius Activation

This is the next phase of lower trap activation after working on shoulder blade squeezes for lower trap activation

Focus:

  • Hinge forward with low back and neck in a neutral position

  • Pull shoulder blades down and in towards spine

  • Keep arms in line with torso (like you are stuck between two pieces of glass) as you translate them towards you rob cage

  • Move at a slow and controlled pace as you focus on lower trap activation

Suggested Frequency:

10-15 reps, 2-3 sets with a medium strength resistance band

Who should perform this?

Individuals with neck tension, rolled forward shoulders, tension headaches, shoulder blade instability and other shoulder related injuries.
